San Angelo identifies victims of two fatal crashes

Two men who died in separate crashes in San Angelo have been identified. Police reports suggest that one of the drivers may have experienced a medical issue before the accident. Jerry Mills, 77, was riding a red 2020 Yamaha moped when he crashed on March 7 around 9:04 p.m. The crash occurred in the 500 block of North Bryant Boulevard. Mills had signaled to turn right onto West Sixth Street but lost control and hit a curb. He was thrown off the moped and taken to Shannon Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:30 p.m. Mills was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. In another incident, Jackey Davis, 60, was driving a silver 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 on March 9 at 10:58 a.m. He was driving south in the 400 block of U.S. Highway 87 South when his pickup left the road and crashed into a concrete pillar. Davis had a stroke two weeks before the crash and had been in an emergency department the night prior. He was declared dead at the scene. The San Angelo Police Department has expressed condolences to the families affected by both incidents.
