San Diego port district appoints Scott Chadwick as new CEO
Scott Chadwick has been appointed as the new president and CEO of the San Diego Unified Port District, effective mid-January. He brings over 20 years of government experience, including his recent role as Carlsbad City Manager. Chadwick replaces the previous CEO, who left the position 16 months ago under unclear circumstances. The port has faced challenges during this time, including staff morale issues and scrutiny from a Grand Jury report. Chadwick will earn an annual salary of $395,000 and will oversee a staff of 581. His contract will be discussed by the Board of Port Commissioners on December 10.
