Sara Duterte ordered cash transfers to security group, officials testify

Vice President Sara Duterte has been accused of directing the transfer of millions of pesos in cash to her security group for spending. Special disbursing officers testified before a House committee that the Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group handled confidential funds from the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education. During the hearing, SDO Gina Acosta revealed she delivered P125 million in cash to the security group on Duterte's orders. Another SDO, Edward Fajarda, stated that he entrusted P112.5 million in confidential funds to a security officer for disbursement. Duterte's chief of staff, Zuleika Lopez, was absent from the hearing due to health issues, which has drawn criticism from a local lawyers' group. They condemned the House committee's actions against her, claiming it violated her rights.
