Sarah Ferguson urges donations to support children's literacy
Sarah Ferguson has made an emotional appeal after her daughter, Princess Beatrice, shared her experience of a preterm birth. In a piece for Hello! Magazine, the Duchess of York discussed the importance of children’s literacy and the need for support for underprivileged kids. Ferguson emphasized the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on education. She pointed out that many children missed vital learning opportunities and social interactions due to lockdowns and school closures. She believes that reading is crucial for children to engage their imaginations and develop new ideas. The Duchess highlighted the work of the Children's Literacy Charity, which helps children who are behind in their studies. The charity employs trained tutors to support these kids. This year, the charity plans to work with over 40 schools and assist more than 1,000 children in need. Ferguson's heartfelt message comes after Princess Beatrice spoke about her difficult birth experience with her daughter, Athena. The Duchess aims to raise awareness about the importance of education and the support available for children facing challenges.
