Saskatoon lawyer's license suspended over fee allegations
cbc.ca —
The Law Society of Saskatchewan has suspended the law license of Dwayne Stonechild, a Saskatoon lawyer. The suspension is due to allegations that he improperly collected fees related to Indian Day School lawsuits. The society stated that Stonechild took fees without court authorization, posing a risk to the public. The allegations have not been proven, and he has not responded to interview requests. Stonechild can request a review of the suspension, which would lead to a hearing. A lawyer from Hnatyshyn-Gough law firm is now acting as trustee for his legal practice.
