Sathish Kumar Karunakaran wins opening match at Odisha Masters

Defending champion Sathish Kumar Karunakaran won his first match at the Odisha Masters, defeating Darshan Pujari 21-13, 21-6 in 31 minutes. He will face Raghu Mariswamy next. Sathish recently won the Guwahati Masters. In mixed doubles, Sathish and Aadya Variyath advanced after a three-game match against Amaan Mohammad and Simran Singhi. However, No. 3 seed Kiran George lost to China's Liu Yu Xuan in 34 minutes. In women's singles, Anmol Kharb and Tanvi Sharma both progressed to the round of 16. Kharb defeated Tanishq Mamilla Palli, while Sharma upset No. 2 seed Anupama Upadhyaya. The women's doubles pair of Rutaparna and Swetaparna Panda also advanced.
