Saturday AFL matches exclusively on pay TV services now
In 2025, all Saturday AFL matches will be exclusively available on pay TV services Fox Footy and Kayo in Victoria, Tasmania, and the Northern Territory. This marks a significant shift from the traditional free-to-air broadcasts. Fans across Australia will not see live Saturday games on free-to-air TV for at least the first 8 to 10 rounds of the season. While Channel 7 will increase its Thursday night coverage, the absence of Saturday games on free-to-air is a notable change. The AFL's $4.5 billion broadcast deal, effective this year, allows pay services to hold exclusive rights for Saturday games. Many fans are expressing disappointment over the loss of free access to Saturday footy.
