Saudi Arabia arrests over 23,000 for law violations
Saudi Arabia has arrested over 23,000 people in a week for violating residency, labor, and border laws. The campaign, from March 6 to March 12, led to 23,865 detentions, with the majority being Ethiopian and Yemeni nationals. Of those arrested, 16,644 faced residency violations, while 3,896 were charged with border security breaches. Security forces also intercepted 1,432 individuals attempting illegal entry into the Kingdom. Currently, nearly 40,000 expatriates are undergoing legal procedures related to these violations. The Ministry of Interior emphasized that aiding illegal entry is a serious offense, with severe penalties including long prison sentences and heavy fines.
