Saudi Arabia distributes 200,000 daily iftar meals in Mecca
As Ramadan nears its end, Saudi Arabia has increased efforts to support worshippers at the Grand Mosque in Mecca. The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque is distributing over 200,000 iftar meals every day. This initiative involves collaboration with various charitable organizations. Each day, more than 3,000 staff members and 1,000 volunteers manage the distribution of meals. They set up around 3,200 iftar spreads that stretch for 50 kilometers throughout the mosque and its courtyards. Cleanup after the meals is done quickly and efficiently. Within just five minutes after sunset, all areas are cleaned up so that worshippers can continue with their evening prayers without any delay. The operations follow strict health and organizational standards to ensure the safety and comfort of everyone involved.
