Saudi Pro League denies active negotiations for Salah
Mohamed Salah's future at Liverpool remains uncertain as he approaches the end of his contract. The Saudi Pro League's marketing chief, Mohammed Basrawi, stated that Salah is not currently negotiating a transfer to Saudi clubs. He expressed hope that Salah, a key player for Liverpool, might consider moving to Saudi Arabia in the future. This season, Salah has achieved 54 goals and assists in 43 matches, making him Liverpool's top scorer. However, club officials are debating how much longer he can maintain this level of performance, particularly as he will become a free agent in just three months. Since January, Salah has been free to talk to foreign clubs but has not shown interest in leaving Liverpool, emphasizing his commitment to proving himself in the Premier League. While the Saudi league could offer him a lucrative deal, Basrawi confirmed there is currently no negotiation happening with Salah. In a recent interview, Basrawi acknowledged Salah's talent and popularity in the Arab community, expressing a desire for him to join the league but insisted they are not in direct talks about a transfer. Salah expressed disappointment in February over a lack of progress in contract discussions, as negotiations have mainly involved his representatives. Interest from Saudi clubs began last summer when Liverpool rejected a massive £150 million offer for him.
