SBI and IDFC First Bank credit card rewards reduced
Starting April 1, 2025, credit card holders from State Bank of India (SBI) and IDFC First Bank will see important changes. SBI will reduce rewards for specific purchases and end free insurance. For SBI cardholders, the rewards for spending with the SimplyCLICK card on Swiggy will drop from 10X to 5X points. However, customers can still earn 10X points on purchases made through Myntra and BookMyShow. The Air India SBI Platinum Card will also see a decrease in rewards, dropping from 15 to 5 points per ₹100 spent for most transactions. Additionally, free air and railway accident insurance will end by July 26, 2025. IDFC First Bank will stop offering Club Vistara milestone benefits for its card users. After March 31, 2025, these customers will no longer receive vouchers for premium economy tickets or Silver Membership. They can still earn Maharaja Points until March 31, 2026, but the overall value of these cards will decrease. Card renewals will include a one-year annual fee credit as compensation for the lost benefits. These changes may lead customers to reconsider their credit card choices. The removal of free insurance and reduced rewards could affect customer satisfaction. Cardholders are encouraged to check for alternatives that offer better benefits.
