Scheffler voices strong opinions on LIV Golf players
Scottie Scheffler, the World No. 1 golfer, recently shared his thoughts on LIV Golf and the players who left the PGA Tour. While revealing his menu for the Masters Tournament Champions Dinner, he did not shy away from discussing LIV Golf's impact on professional golf. Scheffler stated, "If we want to figure out why the game of golf is not back together, go ask those guys." He suggested that the players who chose to leave for LIV Golf have contributed to the current divide in the sport. Despite this, he expressed that he holds no grudges against those players. "They made their choice," he said, adding that they were aware of the consequences. The 28-year-old expressed a desire to compete against the best players from LIV Golf. However, he maintained that the PGA Tour remains the best in the world. "I still think the PGA Tour has by far the best players," he mentioned, emphasizing the depth of competition on the tour as a key reason for his continued participation. This isn't the first time Scheffler has criticized LIV Golf players. In a previous comment, he attributed fan dissatisfaction to those who left the PGA Tour. As the defending champion of the Masters, Scheffler is set to host a dinner featuring dishes like cheeseburger sliders and chocolate chip cookies for former tournament champions.
