Scholz to discuss drone production for Russia with Xi at G20 summit
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz plans to discuss dual-use products with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the G20 summit. This follows reports of a Chinese factory producing military drones for Russia, which is using them in its war against Ukraine. The European Union has urged all countries, including China, not to support Russia's military efforts. Scholz emphasized the importance of addressing the issue of dual-use goods in his discussions with Xi. Scholz also stated that Germany will not send long-range missiles to Ukraine, as this would involve sharing responsibility for targeting. He reiterated that powerful weapons supplied to Ukraine should not be used for deep strikes into Russia.
