Scientists in India create advanced 3D microscope to map molecules in cells

Indian scientists at the Marine Biological Laboratory have created a new hybrid microscope. This device can simultaneously capture the 3D orientation and position of molecules, such as proteins, inside cells. The microscope combines polarized fluorescence technology with a dual-view light sheet microscope. This allows for clearer imaging of molecular interactions, addressing challenges in observing molecules during cell division. The team plans to improve the microscope's speed for live observations and develop new fluorescent probes. This advancement could enhance understanding of cellular biology and protein interactions.
