Scott Jennings condemns violence against Tesla dealerships
Scott Jennings had a heated exchange with Neera Tanden on CNN’s NewsNight over recent attacks on Tesla dealerships. Jennings described these attacks as acts of “domestic terrorism.” He noted that Elon Musk shared this concern after one of his facilities was targeted. Jennings criticized what he sees as violent behavior from “the American left,” claiming it reflects an angry mob mentality. Tanden challenged Jennings’ comments, asking if he thought attacks on Tesla deserved more attention than the events of January 6 at the Capitol. Jennings tried to clarify his stance but became frustrated with Tanden’s interruptions. He accused her of being condescending and insisted on explaining his views on the Capitol riot. Tanden, who has political ties to Hillary Clinton, sarcastically replied to Jennings while he defended his position. Jennings emphasized that he has always condemned the violence from January 6. He argued that Musk's businesses are facing serious threats and demanded accountability for the attacks on Tesla. Tanden agreed that violence against any individual or group, including Tesla or Congress, is unacceptable. However, she suggested that criticism of Musk should not be suppressed. Jennings pushed back against this view, suggesting Tanden was downplaying the severity of the situation. Meanwhile, a Washington Post journalist attempted to lighten the mood with a joke about Tesla vehicles. There have been multiple reports of vandalism targeting Tesla cars recently.
