Scout Motors adopts Tesla-style sales model with new retail strategy
Scout Motors is adopting a new sales model similar to Tesla's, focusing on standalone retail locations and direct customer service. This approach aims to enhance customer relationships through transparency and a streamlined buying process, reducing vehicle purchase times to under 10 minutes. The company plans to offer repairs outside traditional workshops, with 80 percent of services completed in the field. This could include repairs at customers' homes or hotels, rather than requiring visits to a service center. Scout has not yet announced specific locations or designs for its retail centers, but plans to open them before the 2027 launch of its Traveler and Terra vehicles. Most customers will live within 200 miles of a Scout Workshop at launch.
