Seahawks likely to draft WR Matthew Golden at No. 18
The Seattle Seahawks are making significant changes to their offense this offseason. They have traded quarterback Geno Smith and wide receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. To strengthen their team, they have signed quarterbacks Sam Darnold and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, along with wide receiver Cooper Kupp. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who had a breakout season in 2024, will also be part of the receiving corps. Despite these additions, the Seahawks are looking to draft more talent. CBS Sports' Chris Trapasso predicts that they will choose wide receiver Matthew Golden with the 18th pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. Golden recently had an impressive season with the Texas Longhorns, recording 58 catches for 987 yards and nine touchdowns. Golden's college career totals 1,975 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns. He was initially seen as a second-round prospect but improved his draft stock during the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. There, he showcased his speed, running the 40-yard dash in 4.29 seconds, the fastest of any receiver at the event. Standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 191 pounds, Golden is known for his versatility and explosiveness. He can make plays at different levels on the field. He would provide depth in his first year and has the potential to be a key player for the Seahawks in the future. Adding Golden would help Seattle secure a young, impactful wide receiver.
