Search continues for missing Whitehorse senior David Godfrey

Police in Whitehorse are searching for a missing senior named David Eric Godfrey. The 79-year-old was last seen between 6 and 7 p.m. on Sunday in the Porter Creek area. Authorities are very concerned for his safety as he was not dressed for the cold weather and might not be wearing shoes. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have asked local residents to check their properties, vehicles, and other areas like boats and RVs for any sign of Godfrey. Search efforts are being conducted by Yukon Search and Rescue and RCMP, but as of Tuesday afternoon, he has not been found. Godfrey is described as five feet six inches tall, with an average build and a long white beard. He walks slowly and may seem disoriented. The last outfit he was seen in includes a red jacket, a black and red toque, and brown pants. Anyone who has information about his location is urged to contact the Whitehorse RCMP immediately. People who wish to assist in the search can go to the command post at the intersection of Sycamore and Beech streets.
