Second arrest made in Kingstree shooting incident
The Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office has made a second arrest in connection with a February 9 shooting at Johnny Boy's convenience store in Kingstree. Malcolm O'Neil Brockington, 26, was arrested on March 14 by the Sumter Police Department. Brockington faces several charges, including Pointing and Presenting a Firearm, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, and Breach of Peace High and Aggravated. He is currently being held at the Williamsburg County Detention Center. The shooting incident began with an argument between the victim and another suspect outside the store. When deputies arrived, they found a gunshot victim who received medical attention at the scene. Earlier in the investigation, Jessie Markeas Kennedy, 28, also from Kingstree, turned himself in. He faces multiple serious charges, including Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
