Second wind storm to strike US Pacific Northwest with heavy rain and winds
A second powerful wind storm, known as a bomb cyclone, is set to hit the Pacific Northwest by Thursday evening. This comes as many remain without power from the first storm, which caused significant damage and left about 350,000 customers without electricity. The first storm brought heavy rain and winds, resulting in two fatalities from falling trees near Seattle. In Canada, around 64,000 customers were still without power after the storm affected British Columbia. The new storm is expected to bring an additional 5 to 10 inches of rain and wind gusts up to 65 mph. Life-threatening flooding and mudslides are possible, with rain forecasted to continue in Northern California until Saturday.
