Security heightened in Jammu and Kashmir after attacks

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir are on high alert due to recent intelligence. They are expecting possible attacks from Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and terrorist groups. This alert follows two significant incidents related to military operations in Pakistan. One incident involved an ambush on a Pakistani military convoy in Balochistan, claimed by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). They reported numerous casualties, much higher than what the Pakistani government acknowledged. The ambush used a vehicle-borne explosive device along with gunfire. Another incident that has heightened tensions is the recent killing of Abu Qatal, a key Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative, by unidentified gunmen in Pakistan. He was known for coordinating attacks in the Poonch-Rajouri area of Jammu and Kashmir. Officials believe these events may lead to increased violence in Kashmir. They warned that the ISI might react by blaming others for its setbacks, potentially escalating tensions in the region. Security measures are being strengthened around important installations, vulnerable areas, and minority communities protected by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Troops have been instructed to stay vigilant and ready for potential lone-wolf attacks or hit-and-run incidents. All security plans will be closely monitored to ensure the safety of the region.
