Selection process begins for new magistrate judge in Pa

The process to select a new U.S. magistrate judge in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, has started. This follows the retirement announcement of Judge William Arbuckle, effective June 7. A merit selection panel will review about 15 applicants and recommend five candidates to the district's judges for final selection. Judge Arbuckle has served since 2008, transitioning from a part-time to a full-time role in 2017. He previously worked as a deputy state attorney general and chief public defender.
