"Semesta Arkiv" exhibition showcases innovative art in Jakarta

A new art exhibition called "Semesta Arkiv" is on display at the National Gallery in Central Jakarta until May 11, 2025. The show features over 100 pieces by artist Arkiv Vilmansa, who is also known as a toy designer. The exhibition aims to provide a joyful escape from the challenging realities of today. It includes vibrant colors, playful shapes, and dynamic forms. A highlight of the exhibit is a huge pink humpback whale named Runna, which is located in the front yard of the museum. This event marks a unique collaboration where Vilmansa worked with other artists for some pieces. Museum guide Abimanyu noted that this scale of an exhibition is unusual for a young contemporary artist. The displays transform three main buildings of the museum into a lively artistic experience.
