Seminar in Bengaluru encourages students to pursue passions

The Transcend Group of Institutions held a career guidance seminar for commerce students on Sunday in Yelachenahalli. The event, organized with The Hindu in School, aimed to help students make informed career choices. Parents and students from various PU colleges participated in the session. Manojkumar Kolla, Deputy Director of School Education (Pre University) in Bangalore South, spoke about his own experiences in civil services. He emphasized the importance of making timely decisions and hard work. Kolla encouraged students to focus on their personal growth instead of comparing themselves to others. He also praised newspapers like The Hindu for their role in shaping young minds and improving communication skills. K.T. Siddharth, Chairman of Transcend Group, delivered the keynote speech. He advised students to adopt a mindset of continuous improvement, using "so" instead of "because" for justifying shortcomings. He encouraged students to explore online courses to enhance their skills and be prepared for the job market. During the seminar, parents and students discussed concerns about career choices and parental pressures. One student expressed the dilemma of wanting to pursue teaching but being advised to gain corporate experience first. Panelists encouraged all students to follow their passions without fear and to view challenges as opportunities for growth.
