Senatorial surveys reveal contrasting rankings for candidates ahead of 2025 elections in the Philippines
The latest senatorial surveys from Pulse Asia and Social Weather Stations (SWS) were released on October 1, coinciding with the start of candidate filings for the 2025 elections. Both surveys show similar frontrunners, with Erwin Tulfo leading, but notable differences exist in individual rankings. Ben Tulfo is ranked second in Pulse Asia but did not make the top 12 in SWS. Other discrepancies include Senator Bong Go, who ranks higher in Pulse Asia, and Camille Villar, who performs better in SWS. The surveys differ in methodology, timing, and the number of candidates listed. Pulse Asia's survey included 74 names, while SWS had only 40, affecting candidate visibility. Sample sizes also varied, with Pulse Asia surveying 2,400 people compared to SWS's 1,500. These factors contribute to the differing results and highlight the dynamics of voter sentiment ahead of the elections.
