Senior government officer arrested for Pocso charges

Police in Arunachal Pradesh have arrested a senior government officer in Itanagar connected to a Pocso case. The accused, Eka Rimo, is 50 years old. Rimo was wanted for serious charges, including Sections 376, 326, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with Section 4 of the Pocso Act. This information was confirmed by Rohit Rajbir Singh, the superintendent of police for the capital. The arrest occurred after the officer in charge of the Seppa Women Police Station asked for help from the Capital police. A team from the Itanagar Women Police Station, led by sub-inspector Bamang Yakum, quickly took action and apprehended Rimo. Eka Rimo works as an assistant engineer in the power department's transmission, planning, and monitoring zone in Itanagar. He has been transferred to East Kameng police for further investigation.
