Senior journalists awarded on Pakistan Day in Lahore

A ceremony was held at Governor's House in Lahore to honor individuals on Pakistan Day. The event recognized contributions to various fields, especially journalism. Dunya News journalist Salman Ghani received the Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his work in journalism. Another Dunya News anchor, Kamran Shahid, was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for his significant impact on the media industry. The Sitara-e-Imtiaz was also awarded posthumously to the late Colin David John. His widow, Professor Rukhsana David, accepted the award on his behalf. Mian Rafiq accepted an award for his late father, Mian Aziz Ahmed. The Presidential Award for Pride of Performance was given to Hamid Rana, Sahiba Arshad, and Amir Ashfaq. Other Tamgha-e-Imtiaz recipients included Rafiuddin, Imad Shakeel Butt, Rabab Sikandar, and Muzzamil Suhrawardy. Awards were also given to journalists Nasrullah Malik and Muneeb Farooq, as well as singer Fariha Pervez. Kamran Shahid, a prominent journalist with 19 years of experience, has hosted the prime-time show ‘On the Front’ for 12 years and has also worked with international media.
