Seven arrested in Lucknow truck theft gang bust
Lucknow police arrested seven members of an interstate gang involved in truck theft and forgery. They recovered stolen goods worth Rs 26 lakh, including a truck and counterfeit documents, following a complaint about a missing rice consignment. The case began when a truck loaded with 1,399 sacks of rice went missing on February 26. The driver’s last contact was on February 28, raising suspicions of theft. Police tracked the suspects to Nata Kaur village and intercepted them on March 14. During interrogation, the gang admitted to using fake number plates to mislead authorities. While seven were arrested, two suspects escaped with part of the stolen goods. Police are searching for the fugitives and the remaining stolen items.
