Seven minors arrested for motorcycle thefts in Kozhikode
Police in Vadakara, Kozhikode district, have arrested seven students in connection with a series of motorcycle thefts. They are investigating the possible involvement of other minor gangs, following a rise in abandoned motorcycles in rural areas. The arrested students, all in Class IX and X, reportedly learned to steal locked motorcycles and alter number plates through online tutorials. They used the stolen bikes for joyrides, not for resale. Authorities are gathering information on additional students linked to the thefts and plan to check rural police stations for more stolen motorcycles. No evidence has been found connecting adults or drug dealers to the crimes.
