Seventeen doctors in Lucknow face action for private practice
The state health and family welfare department in Uttar Pradesh has taken action against 17 government doctors who violated a ban on private practice. These doctors receive a non-practising allowance, which means they should not work privately. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak announced the news on Tuesday. He stated that instructions have been issued to the principal secretary to address this issue. The department received reports about some doctors breaking this rule. Following the complaints, Pathak ordered an investigation. The inquiry revealed that 10 doctors from Balrampur, six from Hathras, and one from Kushinagar were found to be involved in private practice. Pathak mentioned that strict actions, including suspensions or financial penalties, could be imposed on those doctors who violated service rules.
