"Severance" season two had a different planned ending
The second season of "Severance" ended with a surprising and intense scene. Director Ben Stiller shared that the team originally had a different ending in mind. They considered a cliffhanger that would leave viewers on the edge of their seats. Stiller mentioned that this idea had Mark in a tough position between two characters, Helly and Gemma. However, they decided against it, fearing that fans would react negatively to yet another cliffhanger. Instead, they chose to have Mark make a definitive choice, setting the stage for future conflict. Looking ahead to season three, creator Dan Erickson said they are working to avoid long delays. He noted that season two took three years to produce. Erickson expressed hope that there wouldn't be major issues like strikes or pandemics that could delay the next season. He added that the creative team takes their time to ensure the quality of the show.
