Severe storms and fog disrupt post-Christmas travel across the U.S
Severe storms and thick fog are affecting post-Christmas travel across parts of the U.S., particularly in the Northwest, South, and Midwest. This has caused significant delays at airports, especially in the Dallas area. On Thursday, over 8,000 flights were delayed, prompting ground stops at Dallas-area airports. By Friday morning, major airports reported fewer widespread delays, though San Francisco International Airport faced about 40 minutes of delays. As of Friday morning, around 2,300 flights were delayed and 80 canceled. The Transportation Security Administration reported that 15.2 million travelers passed through U.S. airports from December 21 to 26, with record travel numbers expected this holiday season.
