Severe storms spawn tornadoes and disrupt holiday travel in southeastern US
Severe storms hit the southeastern U.S. on Saturday, spawning at least 10 tornadoes in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. One person died near Houston, according to local authorities and the National Weather Service. The storms disrupted holiday travel, causing over 7,000 flight delays and more than 200 cancellations nationwide. Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport saw about a third of its flights delayed, while nearly half of flights from Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston were also affected.
