Severe thunderstorms disrupt holiday travel in Texas and Louisiana
Severe weather watches are in effect for parts of Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas as a storm system in the Gulf of Mexico approaches. The National Weather Service warns of high winds, hail, and possible tornadoes. A tornado warning was issued for areas northeast of Houston, but no damage has been reported. The storms have caused over 100 flight delays and cancellations at major Texas airports, including Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has activated emergency response resources due to the severe weather threat. Travelers are advised to monitor conditions and prepare for potential hazards as the storms move into southern Arkansas and northern Louisiana.
