Severe Tropical Storm Leon exits Philippine area of responsibility, weakens as it moves north

Severe Tropical Storm Leon has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility as of early Friday morning. It is now located 550 kilometers north northwest of Itbayat, Batanes, with maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour. Areas including Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan may experience cloudy skies and scattered rains due to Leon's trough. Flash floods and landslides are possible from moderate to heavy rains. Leon is moving northward at 20 kilometers per hour and is expected to weaken as it heads toward the East China Sea. No Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal has been issued.
