LEGAZPI CITY — On November 10, at least 143 passengers were stranded in Bicol ports after sea travel was suspended due to Severe Tropical Storm “Nika.” The Philippine Coast Guard reported 107 passengers stranded in Tabaco City, 27 in Pasacao, and nine in Virac. The storm, also known as Toraji, is located about 500 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon. It is moving westward at 30 kilometers per hour, with maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour and gusts up to 125 kilometers per hour. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 has been raised in several areas, including parts of Aurora, Isabela, Cagayan, and Metro Manila. The suspension of sea travel affects 18 rolling cargoes and two vessels in the region.
