Severe weather disrupts US travel as nearly 900 flights are cancelled
Severe weather is disrupting travel in the U.S. as nearly 900 flights have been cancelled due to tornado watches in Texas and Louisiana. Ground stops were ordered at two Texas airports, and emergency resources were activated. On Thursday, about 800 flights were cancelled, with over 90 more on Friday. Seven flights have already been cancelled for Saturday as meteorologists warn of a severe weather threat in the region. The Transportation Security Administration expects nearly 40 million travelers during the holiday season, with December 27 anticipated to be one of the busiest days. AAA estimates over 100 million people will travel at least 50 miles during this period.
