Sex offender caught filming children at Wisconsin school

Police in Wisconsin have arrested a sex offender who was allegedly caught recording children at a local school. Paul Shelton, 43, was taken into custody after investigators confirmed he did not have permission to be on school grounds. He was found filming children near a grade school on March 7 and was arrested following a search warrant on March 13. Shelton has a criminal history, having been convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in Illinois in 2005. His arrest was initiated after authorities received a tip regarding his activities on campus. Reports indicated that he was filming his daughters while they played and attempted to engage other children. Parents expressed their shock and concern after learning about the incident. Jennifer Baker, a parent with children at the school, said she was unaware of Shelton's presence and would now ensure her daughter does not walk to school alone. Local resident Gary Beesley voiced similar concerns for children's safety in the area. In addition to the charges related to the filming, Shelton was also violating his bond from a previous case involving child neglect. His partner, Dana R. Kozeluh, was arrested alongside him for similar charges. Legal authorities are now assisting with the placement of their children. Shelton faces multiple charges, including failing to update his status as a sex offender and intentionally photographing a minor without consent.
