Shah Rukh Khan to renovate Mannat, needs governmental clearance

Shah Rukh Khan plans to renovate his famous mansion, 'Mannat', starting in May. The renovation is expected to take over two years. The property, a Grade-2B heritage structure, will require clearance from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority for the planned changes. Khan is also set to receive a Rs 9 crore refund from the Maharashtra government due to a miscalculation in the ownership conversion premium for Mannat. The error was discovered in September 2022, leading to the approval of the reimbursement. Mannat, originally built in 1914, was upgraded to Grade-2B status due to its architectural and cultural significance. The property is valued at approximately Rs 200 crore, reflecting the high real estate prices in the Bandra area.
