Shah urges political neutrality in terrorism, crime cases
Union Home Minister Amit Shah called for political neutrality in cases of terrorism and organized crime during a meeting in Guwahati. He emphasized that there should be no political interference in these cases and urged northeastern states to fully implement three new criminal laws. Shah instructed state leaders to ensure police training on these laws and conduct regular reviews of their implementation. He highlighted the need for police stations to become justice centers and praised Assam for its efficient case processing. The meeting also addressed ongoing tensions in Manipur, where protests have occurred over movement restrictions. Despite recent violence, Kuki-Zo organizations have ended a highway shutdown but continue to demand a separate administration.
