Shahid Afridi suggests resting Shaheen Afridi in Pakistan
Shahid Afridi, a former cricketer, is calling for changes to the Pakistan cricket team for their final T20 match against New Zealand. He wants to rest his son-in-law, Shaheen Afridi, and all-rounder Shadab Khan. Pakistan has already lost the series, so Afridi believes it is time to give lesser-used players a chance. During the series, Pakistan struggled. They lost three out of four matches, only performing well in the third game. In that match, they successfully chased a target of 205 runs. However, their scores in the other matches were low, with totals of 92, 135, and 105. Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan have also underperformed, getting just four and one wickets respectively. On social media, Shahid Afridi suggested that the team should use players from the bench for the final game. He stated that with the series lost, it makes sense to rest key players and try new talent. Previously, Pakistan had rested star players Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan during the T20 series. Their absence was felt as the team struggled in the matches. Both players are included in the squad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. New Zealand has named its ODI squad, which will be led by Tom Latham. The team includes players who performed well in domestic competitions. Some senior players from their Champions Trophy squad are absent due to commitments in the IPL.
