Shakira pop-up museum opens in Mexico City soon
A pop-up museum dedicated to Shakira is set to open in Mexico City. The "Shakira Estoy Aquí Experience Mexico City" will begin on March 21 and will run for 10 days, closing on March 30. This unique attraction is located in the Roma Norte neighborhood. Entrance to the museum is free. The museum coincides with Shakira’s "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran" tour, which started earlier this month in Monterrey. She will perform seven concerts in Mexico City this week. It is her first visit to Mexico in almost seven years. The exhibition will have various rooms featuring different aspects of Shakira’s career. Fans can expect to see costumes, photographs, and instruments she has used in her music creation. The CEO of the project, Juan Martín Salazar, noted that Shakira is unique because of her talent in playing multiple instruments, which will be highlighted in the museum. One section of the museum will showcase a collection of costumes from Shakira’s music videos and concerts. Another room will feature unpublished photographs taken by her friend, photographer Jaume de Laiguana. Additionally, there will be displays about Shakira’s impact and history in Mexico, with contributions from fan clubs and local artisans. Visitors will also have the chance to purchase official Shakira merchandise during their visit. This experience promises to give fans an immersive look into the life and career of the Colombian music star.
