Shamseer urges faster water projects in Thalassery

A.N. Shamseer, the Speaker of the Kerala Assembly, met with officials from the Kerala Water Authority (KWA) to prioritize the Jal Jeevan Mission and AMRUT water projects in Thalassery. He urged them to accelerate these efforts to improve drinking water access in the area. Shamseer also spoke with the District Collector about the delays in restoring roads after pipeline installation in Thalassery. Officials indicated that once the quarry strike in Kannur is resolved, they expect to finish restoring the remaining 21 kilometers of road within 20 days. To address drinking water shortages in the Kodiyeri area, the state will allocate ₹16 crore from various state plans. Additionally, a ₹3-crore project for an overhead tank serving the Kodiyeri-Paral zones will be fast-tracked. Key figures at the meeting included KWA technical member T.B. Bindu and executive engineer S. Shobha.
