Shane Lowry leads PGA Tour event with record performance
Shane Lowry had an impressive performance on Friday during a PGA Tour event. He started his round with a remarkable nine holes, scoring just 29 strokes. This push helped him move to the top of the leaderboard. Lowry, from Offaly, played exceptionally well, achieving six birdies in his first nine holes. He began his round by birdying the first three holes he played and added more birdies on the fifth, seventh, and eighth holes. His strong showing puts him ahead of his Ryder Cup teammate, Viktor Hovland. If he continues this success, Lowry may reach his best-ever world ranking. Currently, he is ranked 15th and has previously been as high as 14th. This year, Lowry has shown great consistency in his game. He has missed only one cut and finished as runner-up at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He also placed 7th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. With his current performance, Lowry seems well on his way to securing a spot on the European Ryder Cup team this September.
