Shashi Tharoor promotes Atovio Pebble air purifier then reports it stopped working

Shashi Tharoor recently promoted the Atovio Pebble, a personal air purifier that uses anions to clean air. However, he later reported that the device stopped working after just a few hours of use. The Atovio Pebble differs from traditional air purifiers, which typically use HEPA filters. Instead, it generates anions that attach to pollutants, claiming to improve air quality. Despite its innovative design, the effectiveness of anion-based purifiers remains debated. Tharoor previously used a similar product, the AirTamer, but switched to Atovio for its Indian-made appeal. His experience raises questions about the reliability of these personal air purifiers, especially in highly polluted environments like Delhi.
