A man has surrendered to police in Bay City after being accused of a shooting that left one person dead. Shawn D. Meredith Jr., 33, turned himself in on Monday, March 24, 2025. He is connected to the shooting of 28-year-old Kane Crockett, which happened on March 15. Crockett was shot around 2 a.m. near 18th and South Sherman streets. Police found him unconscious, and he was rushed to McLaren Bay Region hospital. Sadly, he died shortly after emergency surgery. Meredith faces several serious charges, including felony murder and armed robbery. He was taken to the Bay County Jail after his surrender.
