Shedeur Sanders attends Big 12 Pro Day in Texas
The Big 12 Pro Day starts today in Frisco, Texas, at the Dallas Cowboys' home, The Star. This event lasts four days and gives college players a chance to meet NFL teams. Shedeur Sanders, a former quarterback from Colorado and a top NFL draft prospect, will attend. However, he will not participate in the usual workouts, like running the 40-yard dash. Instead, he will focus on interviews with coaches and scouts. His father, Deion Sanders, the head coach at Colorado, is expected to be there as well. More than 200 players from the Big 12 will participate in the event. Nearly 300 representatives from all 32 NFL teams will be on site. The NFL Network will broadcast live from 1 to 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday and Thursday. This event gives athletes who did not get invited to the NFL combine a chance to showcase their skills. The Big 12 started this event last year to help more players gain visibility. Scott Draper, the Big 12's chief football officer, highlighted its importance for less noticed athletes. Besides Sanders, other notable prospects include Jonah Savaiinaea from Arizona and Jacob Parrish from Kansas State. Several talented running backs from the conference are also attending, like Corey Kiner and Devin Neal. The goal of the Big 12 Pro Day is to help players improve their chances in the draft, especially those who may go undrafted. This includes athletes like Shamari Simmons and Jimmy Horn Jr. The event also attracts talent scouts from other sports, including NASCAR and WWE, showing opportunities beyond football for some players.
