Shehbaz Sharif condemns violence by PTI workers as anarchist attacks in Pakistan
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned recent violence involving Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers, who allegedly attacked Rangers and police on Srinagar Highway. He described the group as "anarchist," stating they seek bloodshed rather than revolution. Sharif expressed grief over the deaths of four Rangers and two police officers, urging authorities to identify those responsible. He emphasized that attacks on law enforcement during protests are unacceptable and called for accountability. In response to escalating violence, the federal government has deployed the army in Islamabad. A notification allows military forces to assist in maintaining order and impose curfews if necessary, with authority to act against troublemakers.
