Sheikh Zayed Road traffic congestion reduced significantly
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed improvements on Sheikh Zayed Road. These changes aim to make the road network more efficient and reduce traffic jams at busy intersections. The project focuses on improving the flow of traffic while ensuring safety for all road users. Sheikh Zayed Road is an important route for businesses and commuters. It runs through areas with key landmarks like the Dubai International Financial Centre, Burj Khalifa, and Dubai Mall. Many vehicles travel this road daily, making it essential for the city's economy. Ahmed Al Khzaimy, a director at RTA, shared details about the enhancements. He mentioned that one significant upgrade increased the number of lanes on the service road next to the Financial Centre Metro Station. The lane count went from three to four, allowing 3,200 vehicles per hour instead of 2,400. This upgrade has reduced congestion, with travel time dropping from five minutes to just two. Additionally, RTA has improved the merging distance between Al Khail Road and Financial Centre Street. This adjustment has cut down travel time along Sheikh Zayed Road from four minutes to three minutes. Overall, these enhancements are expected to make driving smoother and more efficient for everyone in Dubai.
