Shooting at Oakland County hospital injures employee
A shooting occurred at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital on March 20, 2025. The incident took place around 7 a.m. in the hospital's parking garage between two employees. Reports indicate that the individuals, who were once close friends, had a recent disagreement. The suspect allegedly fired five shots, hitting a 25-year-old man twice in the arm. The victim was treated on site and is expected to recover. The police arrested the suspect later that morning at a home in Macomb County. Witnesses described the chaos as an employee warned others to stay away due to an active shooter. Initially, Troy police held a briefing where they confirmed the shooting involved two hospital workers. After identifying the suspect, the police took him into custody around 9:30 a.m. Another person was also detained for questioning at the suspect's residence. Police noted that the two men had been friendly but had recently fallen out. More details about the case will be released after the suspect's arraignment this weekend.
